IS MY TYPE OF GLASS CORRECT??
Both Heacock in Fenton 1st 25 Years (2 different catalog pages) and Whitmyer in Fenton Art Glass 2nd show this Jelly Compote as Custard Glass. One of the ads is a decorated custard ad. When this is in your hand, you could very easily call it Vaseline Opal (heavy Opal). Custard Glass by definition is Opaque, this item is not totally Opaque.
Fenton #526 aka Strawberry Yellow Custard Jelly Compote with Silver Enamel Decorated berries and leaves. This is a real nice item with the Flared, Round top and a Wide Panel exterior pattern. The Opal has lots of fire to it when you look thru the side. And, you can read your mail thru the foot, it is translucent.
I use a small 5 LED UV Flashlight for the Blacklight photo(s).
