This is thought to be European, I do not know.  It seldom sells at auction, but is a Covered Jar in Marigold.  I believe the name came from Hartung since the first one found was in Illinois. The iridescence is the silver type (is it tin chloride that gives this finish?).  This sits flat on the base.

Circa 1920+ in my humble opinion.

7 1/4 inches high with lid.

4 inch lid diameter.

5 5/8 inches to top of jar.

3 1/4 inch base.
