**VERY SCARCE**
This is a really nice SPREAD WING EAGLE Covered Candy Bowl in BLACK AMETHYST. This was made using Westmoreland’s Line #21 (Covered Animals) Cover and #1870, Open Lace Bottom. The iridescence on this is SUPER…all the colors are there somewhere. And, it is heavy. And, the Eagle has Glass Eyes.
This was made in 1984 when Westmoreland was closing and this was made with a true Black Amethyst Glass. I have seen no mention of this particular item in any of the Westmoreland books…only a reference to Black Glass being made as an experimental color in 1984. This is signed with the Levay scribed signature and #56/300, 85 on the top inside rim.
Levay Glass had a limited run of all items he had made regardless of the Maker.
