Important facts to know about Cameo Glass
Cameo glass is made using fused layers of differently colored glass which are then etched or carved to create designs. We feature work by current artists like Chris Carpenter, Bob Bomkamp and Kelsey Murphy, as well as other well known antique artisans like Loetz, Moser Karlsbad, etc. There is a great video from the Getty Museum on Youtube explaining the process these artisans use to create Cameo Glass.
Historically, cameo glass was manufactured in Rome, with the Portland Vase as a prime example of their art. Similarly, there were both French and English makers who were very active in the mid 19th century, with their own characteristic styles.
CarnivalGlass.com strives to provide the best selection of Cameo Glass for sale whether it is made more currently or antique.
