Description
BLUE BASE GLASS!
A BLUE Base Glass Ripple Carnival Glass Swung Vase. Imperial pattern #481. This example has a very thick coating of iridescence on it. Thru the base, it looks to be Black Amethyst and you have to use a bright light to see the true glass color. I see Blue most of the time but some times it seems to be a Violet Blue. When it is yours you can decide.
There are 2 photos of the top..the 2nd one is with a small 4″ long flashlight trying to shine thru from the back side. The Iridescence is so think it makes just a little bit of difference. Then I used a Photographers Lamp, a very bright light, for the last photo.
These come in various base sizes and colors…I have seen quite a few collections with many Ripple examples.
This is a standard size Vase. It has a 20-point Star Base. This one has Blues, purples & a Bronze type iridescence.
Circa 1912.
