Description
*HARD TO FIND TUMBLER*
This is an OMNIBUS Tumbler in Blue glass. This has Magenta and a Silver/Bronze type iridescence on it.
The manufacturer of this is unknown, however, most believe it is from one of the Argentina makers. Glen Thistlewood says it is possibly Cristalerias Papini (Argentina), but the jury is still out. Oh, all of the ones I have seen have tool marks on the top rim.
A nice addition to any Tumbler Collection.
While not as difficult to find as the one by US Glass, this is still considered a Hard to Find Tumbler. Research by Bob Smith, Tumbler Collector of note, tells us that on the US Glass the line 5/8″ below the rim is raised above the glass and the South American one is indented. There are other differences but that is the easiest one for me. So, not even the same mold as early books indicate. And, according to Bob, some have ground bases, some are not ground. This has an un- ground base.
Circa early 1910’s-20’s.
