Description
EXCELLENT PRESSING ON THIS PIASA BIRD!
Here is a Blue Opal Piasa Bird Rosebowl….the opening is so small, I, at times, wonder if it was meant to be a Hair Receiver. Someone will have to find a manufacture catalog or ad before we know. This sits on 3 Ball & Claw feet. The Opal is nice and even+- about half way down. This is a heavy piece of glass. And, the blue is a Shapphire … darker than most EAPG Blue.
Older references go from English to US etc…back & forth. Mike Carwile found this pattern in a book by Cyril Manley, “Decorative Victorian Glass”, just not in Opal. So, definitely English.
Circa early 1900’s exact unknown.
