Description
BLUE OPAL CARNIVAL GLASS! DELIGHTFUL IN THIS SHAPE!
This is a Westmoreland Corinth Jack-in-a-pulpit vase in highly prized color… BLUE OPAL! And as you can see, the opal is FIERY!
JIP vases are always highly collectible so this one should find a home in someone’s collection quickly! The iridescence is golden on the interior and some modest oily looking iridescence on the exterior. VERY SHINY so please excuse my tree reflections. Mostly what you’re looking for in one of these is prominent columns of opal which you definitely have here!
Also note how dark and rich the base is here! FABULOUS!
The top was hand-formed and looks pretty good to me! There’s a little factory dirt behind two of the scallops, but if you’re looking at this, you know that the factories were dirty and had no quality control back then. Things like that are a tribute to how the glass was made!
SUPER COOL VASE!
Made in the early 1900s.
